Help Each Other in Switzerland and Beyond
Who We Are
There is a growing need for mutual health and social care services amongst Japanese living in Switzerland, and Care Team Japan (CTJ) was founded in April, 2002 in order to meet the need.
As of January 2012, nearly 150 people in Switzerland have joined CTJ, and we have been empowering the Japanese community in Switzerland to address the need. We organize events, including study sessions, seminars, workshops and bazaars, and encourage collaboration and knowledge-sharing amongst the members.
CTJ partners with non-profit organizations in Japan called Nippon Active Life Club (NALC) and Seacare. The NALC program fulfills the important need of supporting each other by introducing the time point system. The Seacare program allows CTJ members to give professional healthcare support for their families in Japan (e.g., elderly care) while living in Switzerland.

What We Do
Programs
Mutual Support System
- CTJ partners with Nippon Active Life Club (NALC) and introduces the time point system for CTJ members.
- As a care provider, you receive 1 point per hour. In order to get support, you can either use the points you have accumulated in the past (1 point = 1 hour worth of support) or pay 10CHF per hour plus actual costs (e.g., transportation costs).
- You can use your points you earned in Switzerland to help your family members in Japan via NALC Japan. In such a case, CTJ NALC office in Switzerland will help connect you with an appropriate NALC branch in Japan.
- In order to use NALC services, you have to be a CTJ member. Please note the annual NALC fee is CHF40 in addition to CTJ membership fee.
- If you have any question regarding to NALC, please feel free to contact CTJ NALC office (Tel: 079 602 21 17 or [email protected])
Professional Healthcare Support System
- CTJ partners with Seacare, and the partnership allows CTJ members to arrange professional healthcare support for their families in Japan while living and staying in Switzerland.
- The professional healthcare support offers two programs:
- Elderly care 119 program: The goal of the program is to address urgent elderly care issues in Japan for those who live outside of the country. Seacare's professionals (e.g., nurses) help you fulfill your needs.
- Elderly support program: The goal of the program is to help your family member (= care receiver) practice and sustain an optimal lifestyle. To do so, Seacare professionals interview with the care receiver, make a plan to solve problems he/she may have and help implement the plan.
- In order to use Seacare's services, you need to be a member of CTJ. Please note that you need to pay additional costs based on which program you request. (Note: CTJ members are eligible to waive Seacare's annual membership fee which is 24,000 yen)
- If you have any question about Seacare, please feel free to contact Care Team Japan office (Seacare section)
